Rising from the site of the former Six Flags Mall, General Motors' Arlington Automotive Logistics Center is a 1.2 million-square-foot, two-building hub strategically situated on 80 acres off State Highway 360. As developers sought to reimagine the deteriorating retail space, GM seized the prime opportunity to establish a facility adjacent to their Arlington Assembly Plant.
This state-of-the-art complex houses advanced manufacturing and warehousing technologies to enable just-in-time production and delivery of interior cabins installed in Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade models. By consolidating these operations, the facility streamlines supply chain logistics for three GM subsidiaries that produce SUV components.
Ed McGuire, President of Bob Moore Construction, remarked "This was an exhilarating project for our team. GM is an iconic American corporation with deep ties to Arlington spanning back to 1954. We're proud to play a role strengthening that enduring partnership and spurring local economic growth through this future-focused development."
The facility earned distinguished building honors, including the TEXO Industrial/Warehouse 2 Award and Dallas Business Journal's Best Real Estate Deals in the Industrial category.
